What counts as a window or door job in this data
Counted:
- Adding or replacing windows, skylights, and interior or exterior doors.
- Upgrades, such as changing to French doors or picture windows.
- Replacing worn-out storm doors, storm windows or screens.
Not counted:
- Putting up storm doors, storm windows or screens for the season.
- Patching screens.
- Replacing a windowpane.
- Routine minor work such as painting or decorating.
Survey category: "Added or replaced doors or windows". Costs the Census Bureau filled in (13% of the professional jobs) are left out.
